Financial Assistance for Higher Studies
2. Objective of the scheme
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance for higher studies for students pursuing higher education in Administration, Medical, Engineering, Technology, Research within and outside the State/Country for courses like MBA,MBBS,IT,BSc,MSc,B.Com,M.Com,M.Phil, PhD,BVSc,MVSc,B.Arch,M.Arch,BSc Nursing etc.

Directorate for Welfare of Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes.
6. Eligible Criteria
Eligibility criteria for Financial Assistance for Higher Studies are as given below:
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to Tea Tribes community.
- The applicant must produce Caste certificate (OBC TGL/Ex- TGL) which is duly certified by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district or his designated officer.
- Undertaking on the annual family income stating that it is not exceeding Rs. 5.00 lakh per annum to be submitted by the Parent/ Guardian. (Annexure 1)
- Must produce admission receipt of the course undergoing along-with the applications.
- The applicant should not be a Govt. service holder
- In case of detained students, he/she shall not be eligible to apply for scholarship for the same class twice
7. Rates of Financial Assistance

BSc. Nursing and Post
Graduate courses like MA,

Ed, and MSW, LLB, B.
equivalent.
